Everything points to Usher embracing more of his urban roots for this new album, and we find he’s hit the studio with fellow ATLer, rapper Young Jeezy. The last time those two got together on a track was for Usher’s #1 smash ‘Love in This Club’ in 2008. Long-term collaborator Jermaine Dupri was not too far behind. It has already been confirmed that those two are working together on the project, a former union that has spurned some of Usher’s best work.

Season 4 of NBC’s ‘The Voice USA’ kicked off in rock ‘n’ roll style last night (March 25th). Coaches Usher, Shakira, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton took to the stage to perform The Beatles classic ‘Come Together’. Check out the rocking performance and see who did what after the jump!

So um, I guess Justin Timberlake got Usher all shook! He went running back to the people who gave him a real hit. Bryan Cox, Jermaine Dupri and Eric Bellinger were all snapped with Usher working on his new album. Usher looks really good, but what’s with grown men giving the middle finger in pics? So lame. I’m glad JT is selling damn near one million copies in his first week with ‘The 20/20 Experience’. This was definitely a kick up the backside that Usher was badly in need of!

Usher‘s long-time collaborator Jermaine Dupri shared a photo of himself and the R&B crooner in the studio. Usher’s new album is finally in the works!

The snap came with the following tag, “Me and Usher back in the lab”. The pair have been churning out #1 hits ever since Usher was a teenager. I have to say I’m excited about this reunion, simply because those two have had some stunning smashes under their collective belt! Those include ‘You Make Me Wanna’, ‘U Got It Bad’, ‘Confessions’, and ‘Burn’. The singer’s studio sessions also coincide with his new role on The Voice, which we’re sure he’ll be using as a marketing platform at some point.

SXSW received a surprise set from R&B king Usher when he took to the stage at the Fader Fort in Austin, Texas last night.

Usher was assisted by Cincinnati rock band The Afghan Whigs, as he performed an array of hits, including ‘Climax’, ‘OMG’, ‘Bad Girl’ and ‘U Got It Bad’. Usher also used his slot to send out his well wishes to his rapper pal Lil Wayne, who was reportedly hospitalised yesterday following multiple seizures. Usher was clearly enjoying the deafening screams of the female concertgoers who were very hype to see him up on that stage. At 34-years-old, Usher still has it in him to get chicks creaming themselves over a little guest stint.

The So So Def 20th Anniversary concert at The Fox Theater in Atlanta last night was certainly full of star-studded surprises.

Usher, Ludacris and Lil Jon rocked the stage with several songs from their reigning past, including ‘U Got It Bad’, ‘Lovers and Friends’ and their club smash ‘Yeah!’. A stripped back power performance came from Monica with ‘Love All Over Me’. The concert was indeed a historic night and everyone was in good spirits. Congratulations goes out to the entire So So Def family for making it this far! Now check out both performances below!

After their critically acclaimed ‘Climax’, Usher and Diplo team up once again for ‘Go Missin’, which they dropped last night on Valentines Day. The track is a combo of heavy bass production and electronic synths pulsing in the background.

Ush uses that stimulating falsetto, urging his female companion to make a saucy getaway. Of course doing so in the hope that he can have her all to himself for a night of seduction. It’s one of those songs that will need to get constant play on the radio until you learn to love it (if you don’t already). It’s nowhere near as good as ‘Climax’, and it does nothing for me personally, but check it out anyway.

Your eyes are NOT deceiving you. Usher FINALLY got himself a damn haircut! Then I looked at his red sneaks and was about to congratulate him for doing so well! SMH. The R&B crooner performed in front of First lady Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia last night (January 19th).

He performed hit singles ‘Yeah!’, ‘Without You’ and ‘O.M.G.’ during the ‘Kids’ Inaugural: Our Children. Our Future’ concert in Washington. The energetic performance was in honour of military veterans and families. Check out photos of Usher’s performance below!

A defiant looking Usher appears in a brand new promotional image for the upcoming season of ‘The Voice’. Both Shakira and Usher replace original coaches Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green on a temporary basis. I see Usher is going to keep wearing those red high-top sneakers until they become rotten to the core. Well, at least they match the chair nicely.
